BASIC CAMP SHIRT with KWIK SEW PATTERN
Wednesday, July 8 and July 22, 6-9:00 p.m..
Make a camp shirt that fits, using a KWIKSEW pattern # 2952 or #3200. In the 1st class you will be fitting your pattern . In the second class you will be constructing and learning a cool technique for finishing front facings for your shirt.

BASIC CAMP SHIRT WITH PATTERN MASTER SOFTWARE
Wednesday, July 15 and July 22, 6-9:00 p.m..
Make a camp shirt that fits with the use of PATTERN MASTER software. In the July 15th class, you will be designing your shirt using the software. In the July 22nd class, you will be constructing your own perfectly fitting shirt.

Make this adorable apron for a gift—or yourself. You could easily make this reversible for different seasons or holidays. The Blue Plate Special pattern is required.

FLIRTY SUNDRESS

This flirty sundress features a bodice made up of 16 panels that flare into a skirt. This dress, made with KWIKSEW pattern #3520, includes inserting a zipper. You have the option of ties at the shoulder or spaghetti shoulder straps.

This tank-style dress would be great for vacation. KWIKSEW pattern #3325 is a front bodice wrap that is connected to the back bodice. It goes over the head from front to back, then wraps around and ties at the front waist. No, you won’t get tangled up!

Becky will guide you through the process of making pants that actually fit. You’ll need and use the computerized pattern drafting softwear ($25– no discount) available at The Old Craft Store.

KIDS' CAMP 2009
CAMP GUIDELINES:
Unless otherwise noted, camp projects are finished TOPS only.
Please make the quilt top in the recommended size.
Use quilt shop-quality fabrics and supplies. Label all supplies and tools.
Make sure your sewing machine is in good working order.
Campers MUST have sewing machine experience. . .practice “stitching” on notebook paper- no thread, just follow the blue lines on the paper.
Camp sessions are Monday-Friday.
Camp fees are $60/45 BCP (plus supplies).

Camp #1: “A Quilt is a Sandwich”- finished 1st grade
This is for the very youngest quilter. Piece, quilt, and bind a doll-sized quilt. Enjoy stories and picture books about quilting.
June 15-19, 10 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

Camp #2: “Railfence”- finished 2nd grade
Piece and tie a simple kid-sized quilt. Jackie will pre-cut fabrics.
June 15-19, 1-4:00 p.m.

Camp #3: “Nine-Patch”- finished 3rd grade
Piece a “checkerboard” block and set it with a plain block.
Jackie will pre-cut fabrics.
June 22-26, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Camp #4: “Patches for You”- finished 4th grade
Learn to rotary cut and strip piece a kid-sized quilt.
Top ONLY will be completed in camp.
June 22-26, 2-5:00 p.m.

Camp #5: “Pok-e-Dots”-finished 4th grade
Practice your rotary cutting skills and learn to do
“cheater” corners. Top ONLY will be completed in camp.
July 6-10, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Camp #6: “The Snoozin’ Quilt”- finished 5th grade
This is a great quilt to take to sleep away camp, on vacation, or in the car. Learn to rotary cut and stitch quarter-square triangles, nine-patches, and “skinny” sashing/borders.
July 6-10, 2-5:00 p.m.

Camp #7: “Look Mom! It’s Done!”- finished 5th grade
This is the perfect camp to complete your summer of sewing. Learn to baste, use a walking foot to quilt, and bind your quilt.
July 13-17, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.


CHILDREN’S AND BEGINNER SEWING CLASS
Monday-Friday, June 8-12, 1-3:00 p.m.
This class is for children/teens- who have completed 3rd grade. Come for a week of working with Stacy to sew a travel pillowcase and a backpack for your vacation or camp. You must have WORKING knowledge of your machine. Be sure you can wind a bobbin, thread your machine, and run the machine properly. Stacy will teach you how to sew the two projects. The travel pillow will be completed during the first 2 days, and the backpack during the final 3 days. . . Then you’ll be set for the rest of the summer!!

Learn to piece and attach these fan pieces using the 9 Degree Wedge template ruler. This ruler can cut fan wedges in multiple sizes.Monday, June 22 and 29, 6-9:00 p.m.

ONE BLOCK WONDER

A step up from “Stack ‘n’ Whack” quilts.. . .six repeats of fabric, cut into equilateral triangles turn into amazing kaleidoscope hexagons. Hexagons are stitched in straight rows. . .no set-in seams. Wednesday, June 10, 17, and 24, 6-9:00 p.m.

STACK’n”WHACK

TRIP AROUND THE NINE PATCH

This intricate-looking design is really just made of MANY nine-patches. This is constructed in large sections, rather than many diagonal rows. You do NOT have to lay out hundreds of pieces!! Complete this quilt during the summer.

MACHINE QUILTING

Do you have too many tops and not enough finished quilts? This class will help you switch from the mountain of unfinished to the mountain of finished items. In this class, you will learn how to manipulate your machine for “free motion” quilting and use a “walking foot” for straight-line quilting. A discussion of quilting notions and lots of hands-on practice is the focus of this class.

MY FIRST QUILT

New to the quilting world? This class is designed for a person who is interested in learning the basic steps to beginning piecing. Need a refresher course? This class will meet your needs, too. In the 4-week course, you will learn to use a rotary cutter and ruler accurately, perfect your seam allowances, and add sashing and flat borders while completing a 9-block quilt top.

GOING BEYOND My First Quilt

If you graduated from “My First Quilt”, or if you need to build confidence in making flying geese or half-square triangles, this is the perfect class for you. There are 2 different designs to choose from. You’ll begin a lovely quilt while working on fundamental skills. Tuesday, July 21, 6-9:00 p.m.

THIRD SATURDAY SEWING CLUB
Come for a couple of hours or plan to stay most of the day. This sewing club will be led by Nancy Stewart. Featured project in the a.m. is “The Victory Quilt” by Eleanor Burns. Learn new techniques while making blocks popular in the 40s.
In the afternoon, you will work on blocks from the design, “From My Cabin Window”. This quilt, designed by Pam Bono, gives you the look of appliqué with piecing, not handwork. You’ll have plenty of time to work and an expert to help guide you through any problems or concerns that might crop up.

Fourth Saturday Sewing
