KIDS' CAMP 2009
CAMP GUIDELINES:
Unless otherwise noted, camp projects are finished TOPS only.
Please make the quilt top in the recommended size.
Use quilt shop-quality fabrics and supplies. Label all supplies and tools.
Make sure your sewing machine is in good working order.
Campers MUST have sewing machine experience. . .practice “stitching” on notebook paper- no thread, just follow the blue lines on the paper.
Camp sessions are Monday-Friday.
Camp fees are $60/45 BCP (plus supplies).

Camp #1: “A Quilt is a Sandwich”- finished 1st grade
This is for the very youngest quilter. Piece, quilt, and bind a doll-sized quilt. Enjoy stories and picture books about quilting.
June 15-19, 10 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

Camp #2: “Railfence”- finished 2nd grade
Piece and tie a simple kid-sized quilt. Jackie will pre-cut fabrics.
June 15-19, 1-4:00 p.m.

Camp #3: “Nine-Patch”- finished 3rd grade
Piece a “checkerboard” block and set it with a plain block.
Jackie will pre-cut fabrics.
June 22-26, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Camp #4: “Patches for You”- finished 4th grade
Learn to rotary cut and strip piece a kid-sized quilt.
Top ONLY will be completed in camp.
June 22-26, 2-5:00 p.m.

Camp #5: “Pok-e-Dots”-finished 4th grade
Practice your rotary cutting skills and learn to do
“cheater” corners. Top ONLY will be completed in camp.
July 6-10, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Camp #6: “The Snoozin’ Quilt”- finished 5th grade
This is a great quilt to take to sleep away camp, on vacation, or in the car. Learn to rotary cut and stitch quarter-square triangles, nine-patches, and “skinny” sashing/borders.
July 6-10, 2-5:00 p.m.

Camp #7: “Look Mom! It’s Done!”- finished 5th grade
This is the perfect camp to complete your summer of sewing. Learn to baste, use a walking foot to quilt, and bind your quilt.
July 13-17, 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m.


CHILDREN’S AND BEGINNER SEWING CLASS
Monday-Friday, June 8-12, 1-3:00 p.m.
This class is for children/teens- who have completed 3rd grade. Come for a week of working with Stacy to sew a travel pillowcase and a backpack for your vacation or camp. You must have WORKING knowledge of your machine. Be sure you can wind a bobbin, thread your machine, and run the machine properly. Stacy will teach you how to sew the two projects. The travel pillow will be completed during the first 2 days, and the backpack during the final 3 days. . . Then you’ll be set for the rest of the summer!!
